About Dog Wild

Dog Wild is Columbia’s very own membership-based dog park with a bar. Founded by a stubborn, dog-obsessed, homegrown Missourian, Dog Wild aims to create a community for dogs, dog owners and dog lovers alike to connect. In addition to being the place for your dog to zoom till they drop, our goal is to become the hub for dog-focused events and social gatherings. You don’t need a dog to visit us! We have a seat for all humans who want to connect with a supportive, inclusive, dog-centric community with a positive, laid-back atmosphere.

About the Owner: Rebecca Welly

Born and raised in rural Knob Noster, Missouri, Rebecca spent most of her time as a kid one of two ways, 1) outside, or 2) with her dogs. She’s lived a life surrounded by dogs, from her first job to home life, volunteering to being that “one friend who knows how to give your dog their medicine”. After high school, Rebecca moved to the big city (aka Columbia) to find a place where she might fit in a bit better. Sixteen years later and Columbia doesn’t feel like a such a big city anymore, but rather, more like home.

Owning a business was not something she ever thought she would be doing, but when the idea of a dog park with a bar came up as a pipedream while stuck at home in 2020, deep down something felt very right (and also very mad) about taking it to the next step. Fast forward to today, and she’s proud to bring Dog Wild to Columbia’s community.
